Established in 2002, Urban Green Council’s mission is to transform New York City’s buildings for a sustainable future. As the New York Affiliate of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), they study factors like health, cost, and sustainability of New York City’s buildings. Urban Green Council then collaborates with policymakers and professionals who design and build NYC buildings, influencing the steps taken to provide a sustainable future for the city.
The Challenge
Prior to working with Jitasa in 2010, Urban Green Council ran into a common issue among nonprofits. They had a small staff and limited resources, and found it difficult to process the large number of small credit card transactions and conduct necessary monthly reconciliations. The work it took to maintain their books was outpacing their staff capacity and taking away from the work they wanted to dedicate to their mission.
