Don’t miss this great webinar series from The California Association of Nonprofits

The California Association of Nonprofits (CalNonprofits) is an awesome organization.They work to bring the full power of California’s nonprofits together to strengthen and improve the communities they serve. They strive to speak with the collective voice of California nonprofits to the legislature, government agencies, philanthropy, and the public.

If you’re a nonprofit in California, they are an excellent resource to aid your organization. If you’re not lucky enough to dwell in the sunshine state, there are still a ton of benefits for your nonprofit. One such benefit is the in depth, focused webinars featured regularly. The next will be a three part series that discusses the challenge of funding the full costs, including overhead, for foundation and government funded programs.

These finance webinars will look at the overall issue of overhead as well as various nonprofit strategies for recovering overhead costs. This series will be presented by Kay Sohl,a nonprofit rockstar with over 30 years of experience. She has worked with hundreds of nonprofits and government agencies on accounting and policy aspects of overhead recovery.

1.  Real Costs takes place Monday, March 7, 2011 from 11:00am-1:00pm PST

This webinar will be the least technical, and applicable to both government and foundation funders.

2.  OMB Uniform Guidance takes place Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 1:00pm-3:00pm PST

This session is a bit more technical and offers five ways to allocate indirect costs in contracts with federal, state, county, or local government

3.  Negotiating a Federal Indirect Cost Rate takes place Monday, April 11, 2016 from 11:00am-1:00pm PST

This is the most technical webinar of the series and will discuss how to negotiate a federal indirect cost rate/proposal.
